The Unwetlands

🌿 “The Unwetlands”: Thrilled to have been awarded a grant by the Journalism Science Alliance to work with the amazing Elisabetta Tola and her team of investigative journalists.

Together with the independent media outlet FACTA.eu we have been awarded funding for the joint project “The Unwetlands. A Satellite-Based Investigation into Italy’s Lost Wetlands.” The project is one of 24 selected from 15 countries, sharing nearly €1 million in support for journalist–scientist teams across Europe.

🔍 The Unwetlands will investigate how and why Italy’s precious wetlands are disappearing. The team will combine satellite imagery, machine learning and on-the-ground reporting to reveal the scale, causes and consequences of this environmental decline.
