A beautiful Summer festival of ideas

Posted on Jul 19, 2024 in News, Outreach, STARBORN

This July, I had the great pleasure to present my book at ALSO24, one of the most stimulating and beautiful Summer festivals in England. Set on a natural estate with its own lake and forests, the festival combines ideas, music, food and dance in a unique, three-days long blend of entertainment and encounters.

It was wonderful to meet up with Robin Ince again (a regular), and to speak to a very engaged public about the importance of the stars – not only for our past, but also for our future. This year’s theme was (fittingly!) “Heavenly Bodies”. and I had the opportunity to lead a “star walk” among an orrery built across the site. It was fun to talk to many people in a relaxed and friendly setting. The weather could have been a little more Summerly (not that this stopped several brave souls from swimming in what I must assume was a chilly lake!), but then it didn’t rain, so that’s a plus!
